Hillary Clinton: “I Had No Idea About Epstein’s Crimes”
Hillary Clinton told a congressional panel that she “had no idea” about Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal activities. Meanwhile, she urged the lawmakers to question President Trump under oath over his past association with the late sex offender. She made the remarks after testifying behind the closed doors for several hours before the House Oversight Committee. The Panel, which is currently examining Epstein’s network and influence.

Speaking to reporters after the deposition, Clinton said that, “I want to see the truth come out”. However, she expressed the disappointment that her testimony was not made public. “So I wouldn’t have to be out here characterizing it for you”, she added. Meanwhile, her husband, Bill Clinton, is scheduled to testify before the same committee on Friday.
Clintons Defend Testimony as Epstein Probe Intensifies
The couple had initially resisted the panel’s subpoena and described it as politically motivated. Nevertheless, they later agreed to appear as potential contempt-of-Congress proceedings loomed. Both the Clintons and Trump have denied any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein.
Hillary also commended committee chairman James Comer for raising key questions related to the investigation. “I appreciated that. I want to see the truth come out, so that was a reassuring way to end a very long, repetitive deposition”, she said.
In addition, Clinton has criticized Republican committee members for not asking witnesses about Epstein or his convicted associate, Ghislaine Maxwell. She maintained in her opening statement that she did not recall ever encountering Epstein and stated that she had never flown on his plane or visited any of his properties.

Proceedings were briefly paused after a photo from inside the closed-door session was surfaced. Democrats accused Lauren Boebert of violating committee rules by sharing the image with a conservative influencer. Clinton later said that the incident had prompted her legal team to halt the hearing temporarily to prevent further breaches.
Committee Democrats, which also includes Robert Garcia, have defended Clinton from outside the hearing room. He also called for the full, unedited transcript of her testimony that to be released within 24 hours. Garcia also renewed demands for Trump to testify and said that it “needs to happen right now”.
Separately, Clinton reiterated in a recent interview that “We have nothing to hide”, and also emphasized that “sunlight is the best disinfectant”. The Clintons’ names appear in extensive Justice Department files related to Epstein. However, officials have stated that inclusion does not imply wrongdoing”.
